Catering Contract Checklist
As caterers, it’s important to have a comprehensive contract for your events. This helps maintain healthy relationships with your clients but can also legally protect your company.

Get The Checklist
- Legal Protection: Having a strong contract will protect you legally. It should outline terms and conditions of your catering agreement. It should have an outline of your services, staff responsibilities, payment terms, and other important details.
- Expectations vs Efforts: Catering contracts should explicitly start what is guaranteed by both caterer and clients. Example, what are the set up rules, wedding timelines, etc. Having a timeline approved by the clients could make or break your event.
- Payments and Pricing: Having the total cost of catering services, as well as, payment schedules or due dates is paramount. This will ensure the client understands that financial aspect of the agreement and prevents any disputes down the line.
- Cancellation Policies: Contracts will allow you to have any refund or cancellation policies in writing. Due to unforeseen circumstances clients can cancel on a whim, it’s important you are compensated for any prep work prior to the event.
- Insurance and Liability: Making sure you account for any liabilities or food safety/quality concerns within your contract. Under insurance you should have accident and food related issues covered.
We can create more than one proposal in the same event.
