Caterers Helping the Community Combat COVID-19
COVID-19 was and continues to be especially challenging for the catering & events industry with lockdowns around the world forcing many caterers to make drastic changes to their operations in order to adapt to the new normal. Due to restrictions on the number of people that can gather indoors, many caterers have been turning to pick-up and delivery to minimize contact and limit the spread of COVID, leaving many event spaces dormant for months. One of our valued TPP clients saw an opportunity to contribute to the greater good of her community!
Stephanie Steele, the Event Services Manager of the Mendel Center at Lake Michigan College, in partnership with Spectrum Health Lakeland, has converted their Grand Upton Hall event space into a fully operational COVID-19 vaccination site. Currently they are processing nearly 1,400 people through this site per day, contributing greatly to their county’s vaccine distribution efforts. They plan to ramp up to thousands of people per day once more doses become available.
Despite the long hours and unprecedented use of their event space, Stephanie and her team say they are super excited to be able to be part of the COVID-19 solution. Stephanie has been using her TPP catering software to help organize these events on her calendar and to track the use of this space. The team at Total Party Planner is so excited to be able to contribute to Lake Michigan College’s endeavor to bring an end to COVID-19! Congratulations to Stephanie and her team.
Have you had the opportunity to use your event space for vaccinations? We’d love to hear your story!
